MachCMS 1.0RC1 Released

After 7 months of nothing, I am pleased to announce that the MachCMS project is once again going somewhere.
We have done a 100% rewrite. The entire design has been refocused on simplicity and flexibility. We have totally thrown out modules and replaced them with pages. MachCMS is now under the public domain with part of it under the GPL (the editor). The MachCMS source code contains a blessing instead of a copyright.

We have integrated WIKI functionality and wrote a new template system.
This is a release candidate. Please test it and report any bugs. The final 1.0 release will include a PHP4 version but this release requires the latest PHP5.1.0 CVS.

MachCMS 0.2.1 Released

MachCMS 0.2.1 was released today. This is a minor update that fixes a bug where all system modules were loaded even if they were disabled. That is the only change so you only need to upgrade if you have a problem with that.

MachCMS 0.2 Released

This result of another months work is now available as a Mac OS X installer or tarball.

For you Mac OS X users, installing a simple package should install MachCMS without a single problem. It will even install PHP 5 for you if needed.

For all others, the tarball should be no problem to install as long as you have PHP 5 and a good web server such as Apache installed.

The next thing that needs to be done this month yet is write some good documentation and build a better web site.

Have fun!

Towards 0.1

MachCMS is being developed and components planned right now. In November we expect to see the first 0.1 release.

To start off MachCMS will use SQLite for the database. SQLite is enabled by default in PHP 5 installations which is what MachCMS will require.

The module and template/themes system is designed to be very flexible but yet easy to work with. It is object oriented.

As soon as the basic code is written and proved stable it will be checked into CVS and you will be able to get it from there.
